Growth plan for Plum Goodness, 4 Oct 2026
Scale spend. Hold CAC.
Plum sells 100% vegan beauty, including a Vanilla Caramello perfume deal at 199.00 INR against 375.00 INR. The plan: ten creators live by week six, twelve to twenty new ads a week, and one number to protect: a target CAC of $165.60.

- Target CAC
- $165.60
- New ads a week at peak
- 20
- Creators live by week six
- 10
- Test spend, six weeks
- $24,000

10 chapters, then the gates and every number’s source.
01 The number
One number to protect: $165.60 CAC on a Plum order
The one number I protect is a target CAC of $165.60. It comes from a ceiling of $276.00: a $345 average order, 40% margin and one repeat order. Those inputs are my guesses until Plum's real margin replaces them in week one.
Protect
Target CAC: $165.60 on a first purchase
Ceiling = average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders): $345 × 40% × (1 + 1) = $276.00. Guard line = 0.6 × $276.00 = $165.60. Across the ranges: $0.52 to $2,223.45.
Three moves
- Kill losing Plum ads early, one variable per test.
- Move spend to the concepts that stay under $165.60.
- Keep the hook library growing: perfume, serum and gift-set angles.

02 Variety
Perfumes, serums, gift sets: each ad carries one Plum claim
Each concept carries one product, one claim in Plum's own words and one hook. The solid perfume stick's 250+ uses demo, the Vanilla Caramello 10+ hours line and the 100% vegan wording are different jobs, so they never share an ad.
| Reason to buy | Proof you already have | Ads (proposed) |
|---|---|---|
| Science-backed care | Science-Backed Skincare, Haircare & Body care | 4 |
| Scent that lasts | Long-lasting, luxurious formula that stays for more than 10 hours | 4 |
| Free shipping | We offer free shipping on all domestic orders worth Rs. 399 & above. | 3 |
| Buy 2 get 2 | add 4 more eligible plum(s) to get buy 2 get 2 | 3 |
| Vegan and cruelty-free | 100% vegan, paraben-free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free – as always | 2 |
| Dark spots & pigmentation | Fades dark spots & pigmentation | 1 |
| Barrier repair moisturizer | CeraSense™ Barrier Repair Face Moisturizer with Ceramides | 1 |
| Total | The ad concepts tab | 18 |

Each row is a reason to buy that the brand already has proof for. The count is how many of the ads carry it: a reason with a single ad is a bet, not a pattern, and the next batch of concepts moves toward the reasons that win.
03 Disturbances
Seven risks, from Mystery Box price drift to claim wording
| Disturbance | Likelihood | Impact | Owner | Gate (proposed) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mystery Box is listed at several prices, so ads can point to the wrong offer | Med | High | Your team | Every live ad lands on one Mystery Box price, checked weekly |
| The free-shipping minimum changes over time and ads promise an old one | Med | Med | Your team | Ad copy names shipping only after your team confirms the current minimum |
| Creators stretch fragrance or skin claims beyond Plum's own wording | Med | High | Me | Every video checked against the claims sheet before it goes live |
| Event tracking is incomplete, so CAC cannot be read | High | High | Both | Daily CAC matches order data within a tolerance we agree in week one |
| Test winners fade once spend scales | High | Med | Me | Winner CAC stays under $165.60 for three straight days before scaling |
| Creator supply slips behind the ramp of two new creators a week | Med | Med | Me | Creators live follow the ramp: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 by week six |
| Real margin is below the 40% I assumed, so the ceiling is too high | Med | High | Your team | Margin confirmed in week one; guard line recomputed before week two spend |
Scores are my read from outside the company, re-scored in week one with your data. Each risk has one owner and one gate that can be checked with a number, so nobody has to argue about whether it happened.
04 The ceiling
The ceiling is $276.00, and Plum's real margin replaces it
| Line | Value | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Average order | $345 (range $1.00–$1,647.00) | Assumption Range from the site product prices (Published); the midpoint is a guess |
| Gross margin | 40% (range 35–45%) | Assumption Replace in week one |
| Repeat orders after the first | 1 (range 0.5–2) | Assumption Replace with cohort data in week one |
| Margin per customer, all orders | $276.00 | Calculated Average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders) |
| Guard line for CAC | $165.60 | Calculated 0.6 × the margin per customer |
The math, with the assumed lines
Ceiling = average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders): $345 × 40% × (1 + 1) = $276.00. Guard line = 0.6 × $276.00 = $165.60. Across the ranges: $0.52 to $2,223.45.
Range across the assumptions: $1 to $2,223.
The $276.00 ceiling uses a $345 average order, 40% margin and one repeat order. None is a Plum fact; they are my guesses, and week one replaces them. The guard line is $165.60.
The ceiling is a range, not one number: the most a new customer can cost before shipping and packaging, which I do not have. Replace the guessed lines with yours and every figure below recalculates.
05 Test ramp
$24,000 of tests over six weeks, 12 ads a week to start
| Week | New ads × budget / ad (proposed) | Weekly test spend | Cumulative | Creators posting | CAC target (proposed) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 12 × $250 | $3,000 | $3,000 | 0 | $166 |
| 2 | 12 × $250 | $3,000 | $6,000 | 2 | $166 |
| 3 | 12–20 × $250 | $4,000 | $10,000 | 4 | $166 |
| 4 | 12–20 × $250 | $4,000 | $14,000 | 6 | $166 |
| 5 | 20 × $250 | $5,000 | $19,000 | 8 | $166 |
| 6 | 20 × $250 | $5,000 | $24,000 | 10 | $166 |
Week 1 and week 2: 12 ads at $250 each, $3,000 a week. Weeks 3 and 4: 12–20 ads, $4,000 a week. Weeks 5 and 6: 20 ads, $5,000 a week. Total $24,000 of tests. Proposed, and losers killed early free budget for the next ads.
The math. Week 1: 12 × $250 = $3,000; Week 2: 12 × $250 = $3,000; Week 3: 16 × $250 = $4,000; Week 4: 16 × $250 = $4,000; Week 5: 20 × $250 = $5,000; Week 6: 20 × $250 = $5,000. Total $24,000 (96 ads × $250). A range such as 12–20 counts as its midpoint.
Weeks one and two test what the brand already has, rewritten per reason to buy. From week three, creator videos enter paid only after they beat their own account median. A range of new ads counts as its midpoint in the spend column.
06 Volume
More concepts, more winners: 20 to 80 concepts on Plum's range
20 concepts, 2 winners, $18,000 added a month; 80 concepts, 8 winners, $72,000. Hit rate and spend per winner are assumptions. Plum's range of perfumes, serums and shampoos gives room for many concepts.
| Concepts tested / month | Hit rate (assumed) | New winners / month | Spend each winner holds (assumed) | Added spend at target CAC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 10% | 2 | $300 / day | $18,000 / month |
| 40 | 10% | 4 | $300 / day | $36,000 / month |
| 60 | 10% | 6 | $300 / day | $54,000 / month |
| 80 | 10% | 8 | $300 / day | $72,000 / month |
The math. 20 concepts × 10% = 2 winners × $300 × 30 days = $18,000 a month; 40 concepts × 10% = 4 winners × $300 × 30 days = $36,000 a month; 60 concepts × 10% = 6 winners × $300 × 30 days = $54,000 a month; 80 concepts × 10% = 8 winners × $300 × 30 days = $72,000 a month.
The hit rate and the spend each winner holds are placeholders. The first thirty days of tests replace them with real numbers, and the table is recalculated the same day.
07 Allocation
Where the $100,000 goes first, starting with the perfume deals
- Meta tests and winners: perfumes, skin, hair
- $50,000
- 50%
- Creator pay and product seeding
- $20,000
- 20%
- Pages for the Mystery Box and gift sets
- $20,000
- 20%
- Reserve for winners under the guard line
- $10,000
- 10%
Proposed split of $100,000; the test ramp takes $24,000 of it, and the reserve moves to whichever winner holds under $165.60.
The math. 50% × $100,000 = $50,000; 20% × $100,000 = $20,000; 20% × $100,000 = $20,000; 10% × $100,000 = $10,000. Sum 100% = $100,000.
This split is a proposal. It moves toward scaling as winners prove out, and toward testing when fatigue shows.
08 Channels
Meta first, then channels for Plum's gift sets and app
| Channel | Open when (proposed) | Why wait |
|---|---|---|
| Meta | From week one, with 12 ads at $250 each | Perfume and body care demos suit short video in the feed |
| TikTok | When creator videos beat the guard line on Meta | Same videos, new audience for the BodyLovin' scents |
| YouTube Shorts | When creator videos run a full week without fatigue | Reuses skincare routine demos at little extra cost |
| Google Search | When Meta winners lift searches for Plum product names | Catches people who saw an ad and look up the product |
| Plum App | When the app path is tracked end to end | Gift cards are redeemable on plumgoodness.com and the Plum App, so the app is a real path |
A channel opens when its condition is true, not when the calendar says so. Until then the budget stays where the CAC is earned.
09 Payback
Payback decides: CAC at $305 means stop, whatever the deal
Payback is the constraint, not reach. At CAC $85 the first order pays back, $191.00 left. At $165 it needs repeat orders, $111.00 left. At $305 it never does: stop, −$29.00. At $385: stop, −$109.00. Plum's gift sets and Mystery Box have to lift the first order.
Cumulative margin per customer, order by order, before CAC: $138.00, $276.00.
| CAC (scenario) | First-order margin | Year-one margin | Left after CAC | Payback |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $85 | $138.00 | $276.00 | $191.00 | First order |
| $165 | $138.00 | $276.00 | $111.00 | After repeat orders |
| $305 | $138.00 | $276.00 | −$29.00 | Never: stop |
| $385 | $138.00 | $276.00 | −$109.00 | Never: stop |
The math. CAC $85: $276.00 − $85 = $191.00 left; pays back: First order; CAC $165: $276.00 − $165 = $111.00 left; pays back: After repeat orders; CAC $305: $276.00 − $305 = −$29.00 left; pays back: Never: stop; CAC $385: $276.00 − $385 = −$109.00 left; pays back: Never: stop.
Read each row left to right: the margin of the first purchase, the margin over the whole horizon, what is left after CAC, and the purchase on which the CAC is earned back. A scenario that never pays back is a stop, not a test.
10 Scope
What I cover on Plum, and what stays with your team
Covers
- Meta ad tests: hooks and angles for Plum's perfumes, serums and shampoos
- Creator briefs, selection and a hook library for ten creators
- Claims sheet from Plum's own vegan and cruelty-free wording
- Daily CAC, weekly learnings, monthly cohort payback
Doesn’t
- Event tracking build: I spec it, your team implements it
- Product formulation or any skin or hair efficacy claims
- Fulfilment, inventory and customer support
- Beauty experience: I have none; I work from your site and data
What this plan covers is what I can change inside the ad account and the creator program. Everything outside it is named on the right so nobody assumes it is handled.
Gates, written before spend, so stopping isn’t a negotiation.
| Day | Keep going if (proposed) | Stop or change if |
|---|---|---|
| Day 14 | Creators live match the ramp and daily CAC is reported with no gaps | Tracking cannot match orders, so CAC cannot be read |
| Day 30 | At least one concept holds under $165.60 CAC on real spend | No concept near $165.60 after the first tests |
| Day 60 | Winners scale with CAC held under $165.60 and cohort payback visible | Scaled spend pushes CAC above $276.00 |
| Day 90 | Cohort payback clears CAC; spend scales inside the $100,000 budget | CAC sits at $305 or above, so payback never arrives |
Each gate is checked on its day with the numbers in the daily and weekly reports. If the stop condition is true, the spend stops and nothing renews until we talk.
What exists, what’s missing, and the order that’s forced.
| Piece | Exists today | Missing | Forced order |
|---|---|---|---|
| creative | Perfume pages with 10+ hours and 250+ uses wording | Video demos and a hook library | 1st |
| creators | BodyLovin' scents, Bright Start Gift Set, gift boxes | A creator roster and briefs | 2nd |
| claims sheet | Vegan and cruelty-free wording on product pages | One sheet creators and ads copy from | Week 1 |
| landing pages | Mystery Box listings at several prices | One page per offer, one price | 2nd |
| reporting | Free shipping and cash-on-delivery terms on the site | Daily CAC against order data | Week 1 |
The order is forced on purpose: creative and creators come first because they are what moves CAC, and everything else waits for that data.

Month one is where it starts.
Week one: I set the guard line with your margin, fix the Mystery Box offer, write the claims sheet and launch 12 ads at $250 each. The first two creators come on in week two. Daily CAC starts on day one.
